ABOUT VICTOR VAZQUEZ

Spanish professional soccer player who has gained fame as an attacking midfielder for Barcelona , Club Brugge, LA Galaxy , and Toronto FC, among others. He played for Toronto FC from 2017 to 2018 before moving on to several other teams. In 2022, he signed a one-year contract with Toronto for the 2023 season.

He joined Barcelona's youth system at the age of 11. He is childhood friends with Lionel Messi , and that is who his son is named after.

While a member of Club Brugge, he was named Belgian Footballer of the Year for the 2014-15 season of the Belgian Pro League. In 2017, during his first stint with Toronto FC, he was named the Red Patch Boys Player of the Year.

He and his wife, Maria, have a son named Leo.

He and Jonathan Bond have played as teammates for LA Galaxy.
