Up-and-coming left-handed batsman who was named captain of Indian Under-19 cricket team in 2014. He has played domestic cricket for teams like Royal Challengers Bangalore.

He was born in Jalna and began playing for Maharashtra in 2011.

He has won the M.A. Chidambaram Award for the Best Under-19 Cricketer and Best Under-16 Cricketer.

His father is a criminal lawyer who installed a cement wicket in the family's backyard for Vijay to practice on.

He has been teammates with bowler Muttiah Muralitharan on Royal Challengers Bangalore.
