Film actress who is recognized for her work in pictures such as Strangers When We Meet, Night Has a Thousand Eyes, and Kongo. She passed away in 1982 at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital.

She graduated from Fargo Central High School before moving to LA to attend UCLA .

She made her professional acting debut as an extra in the 1930 film Why Bring That Up? In 1955, she appeared on two episodes of the TV show Science Fiction Theatre.

She was briefly married to John Gilbert . She later married J. Walter Ruben from 1937 until 1942. Her third marriage was to Ali Ipar in 1946.

She campaigned for Adlai Stevenson II 's run for US President.
