ABOUT VIVIANE CHIDID

Senegalese singer who is known for helping popularize Senegalese music and as a former background vocalist for her former sister-in-law Youssou N'dour . She has released a dozen studio albums over the course of her career and typically sings in either English or her native language of Wolof. Her music combines elements from traditional Senegalese music with the genres of rap, country, and R&B.

She released her debut album, Entre Nous/Between us/Ci sunu biir, in 1999.

In 2012, she won a Cameroon Entertainment Award and a Nigerian Entertainment Award. In 2016, she won an award for Best African Female Video at the WatsUp TV Africa Music Video Awards.

In the early 90s, she married Bouba Ndour. The couple had two children together and have since divorced.

She is signed to the record label Jerry Wonder, which is managed by Jerry Duplessis, a cousin of Wyclef Jean .
