Wally Buono

ABOUT WALLY BUONO

CFL head coach and manager who led the Calgary Stampeders and BC Lions from 1990-2011, where he was a five-time Grey Cup champion.

He played in the CFL from 1973-1982, where he won two Grey Cups as a linebacker and punter for the Montreal Alouettes.

He spent much of his head coaching career as a general manager for the teams he coached.

He was born in Potenza, Italy, but moved to Canada when he was three-years old.

He is known for his work developing successful quarterbacks such as Doug Flutie .
