ABOUT WALTER SICKERT
British painter and printmaker of the Post-Impressionist movement during the early 20th century. He became recognized for portraits and works depicting urban settings and ordinary people.
He was born in Germany, but his family moved to England in 1868 because of the German annexation of Schleswig-Holstein. He worked as an actor before becoming a painter.
