American rockabilly and country music singer and guitarist. He is best known for his cover to the song "Rock 'n' Roll Ruby" written by Johnny Cash . His song "Uranium Rock" was featured in the video game Fallout 4.

He is from Humphreys County, Mississippi. He learned to play the guitar during his time in the United States Air Force. He started his professional career in 1956.

He auditioned for Sam Phillips of Sun Records. He was recognized by the Rockabilly Hall of Fame for his contribution.

His parents were Ioda and Willie Warren Smith. He was married and had one son.

His record Rock 'n' Roll Ruby" outsold the first Sun Record releases by Elvis Presley , Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins .
