ABOUT WARREN ST. JOHN

A popular journalist and non-fiction author, he is particularly known for his bestselling work, Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer: A Road Trip into the Heart of Fan Mania. The book follows the Alabama Crimson Tide through its 1999 football season and documents the highs and lows of collegiate athletics fandom.

He studied at Columbia University. During the early 2000s, he worked as a reporter for The New York Times.

He coined the term "metrosexual" in a Times piece called "Metrosexuals Come Out."

He grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. He later married Nicole St. John.

Frank Moore Colby and Warren John both attended Columbia University.
