He began his youth career with Manchester City before joining the Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2003.
He made 152 appearances for the Wolverhampton Wanderers from 2006 to 2014.
He was born in Bangor, Wales.
He and striker Simon Church became teammates on the Wales national team.
