Guitarist and songwriter known for his work with Steely Dan, Chris Potter , and Michael Brecker . Also a solo jazz and fusion artist, he recorded such albums as 2 Drink Minimum and Long To Be Loose.
Early in his career, he played a 1973 Fender Stratocaster guitar.
He started releasing albums independently in 1990.
He married jazz vocalist Gabriela Anders in 2004.
He once collaborated with drummer Billy Cobham .
