Wayne Shelford
ABOUT WAYNE SHELFORD
Former rugby union footballer and coach who captained the All Blacks of New Zealand. He played for the national teams New Zealand Navy and New Zealand Maori as well.
He made his provincial debut with Auckland in 1982 after playing with the amateur club North Shore.
He coached North Harbour from 1997 to 2002 and Saracens from 2002 to 2003.
He married Joanne with whom he had children named Lia and Eruera. He also gained an adopted god-son named Mitchell Haapu.
He and Sonny Bill Williams were both rugby union footballers.
