ABOUT WELDON KEES
Poet, author, jazz pianist, and artist whose best- known literary works include The Last Man and Fall Quarter. After he disappeared under mysterious circumstances in 1955, he became the subject of a book entitled Vanished Act: The Life and Art of Weldon Kees.
He grew up during the Jazz Age and lived his early adult years in the midst of the Great Depression. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1935 and subsequently studied library science at the University of Denver.
His artwork was exhibited at the Whitney Museum in 1948.
He grew up in Nebraska and later lived in Colorado, New York, Massachusetts, and California. He married Ann Kees in 1941.
He was a contemporary of William Carlos Williams .
