She received a BA from Kenyon College and an MFA from the Yale School of Drama.
Her 2003 play, Things Being What They Are, proved so popular that its sold-out run was extended twice.
She has two sons named Foss and Avery.
Her play The House of Yes became an award-winning film starring Parker Posey .
