Wes McCauley
ABOUT WES MCCAULEY
Canadian former professional hockey player and current National Hockey League referee. He played for the Detroit Red Wings , the Las Vegas Thunder, and the Fort Wayne Komets, and the Knoxville Cherokees. He began officiating in 2001 for the American Hockey League.
He began his career in 1990 when he was drafted to play for the Red Wings.
He acted as the referee for the 2007, 2013 to 2018, and the 2020 and 2022 Stanley Cups. He was a defensive player during his hockey playing career. After being drafted in the 8th round by the Red Wings, he bounced around minor-league and international circuits during his hockey career.
He is married and has four children.
Steve Yzerman was a well-known team captain who played for the Detroit Red Wings.
