ABOUT WHIP JONES
Founded and built Aspen Highlands. He was regarded as a ski-industry innovator.
He was in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
He donated the Aspen Highlands to Harvard University, which was one of the largest donations Harvard ever received. The proceeds funded the Whipple V.N. Jones Cornerstone Scholarship Fund.
He was the child of Esther Olin and Frank William Jones, and he married Mary Sue McCulloch.
He and Mickey Spillane both served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
