ABOUT WILLIAM JEROME CAGNEY
American film producer and actor remembered for his roles in the 1934 films Lost in the Stratosphere and Flirting with Danger, produced by Monogram Pictures. He also produced several films starring his older brother, James Cagney , including City for Conquest and Johnny Come Lately.
He made his acting debut in the film Ace of Aces. He was credited as 2nd Lt. Meeker.
He also worked as his brother's agent and helped negotiate several of his Hollywood studio contracts.
He married actress Boots Mallory and they had two children, Jill and Stephen, before their divorce. He went on to marry Nadine Barker. They had a child named William Jr. together before their divorce. His older brother was actor James Cagney.
He was an associate producer on the film Yankee Doodle Dandy starring his brother James and actress Joan Leslie .
