ABOUT WILLIAM HOOTKINS
American actor best known for his supporting roles in the movies Star Wars: A New Hope , Raiders of the Lost Ark , and Batman .
He studied astrophysics and oriental studies at Princeton University . In the early 1970s, he trained as an actor at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He moved to the UK after his friend John Lithgow recommended that he go there.
At the age of 15, he found himself caught up in the FBI's investigation into the assassination of President John F. Kennedy when he was interviewed about Ruth Paine, his Russian teacher.
He married Carolyn Robb in the year 2005, the same year he died. Between 1973 and 2005, he was married to Polly Hootkins.
He starred alongside Harrison Ford and Karen Allen in the movie Raiders of the Lost Ark.
