William Jonas Montford III
ABOUT WILLIAM JONAS MONTFORD III
American Democratic politician who served in the Florida Senate from 2010 to 2020, representing Tallahassee and parts of the Florida Panhandle. During his campaign, he focused on the issues of education, environmental protections, and a wage increase for state employees.
He received a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida.
He worked in education before running for local office. He began his teaching career as a math teacher, before going on to serve as an administrator for 26 years.
He was born in Marianna, Florida and raised in Blountstown, Florida. He and his wife Jane have two children, Bill IV and Katherine, and five grandchildren.
He and Carrie Meek both served in the Florida Senate.
