ABOUT WILLIAM REFSHAUGE
Former Secretary-General of the World Medical Association who worked his whole life in public health.
He studied medicine at the University of Melbourne, where he was also a noted rower.
He was one of the doctors on site at the first nuclear bomb test on Bikini Atoll.
His sister, Dr Joan Refshauge, worked in maternal and children's health in Papua New Guinea.
He was made an Honorary Physician to Queen Elizabeth II for his distinguished service.
