ABOUT WILLIAM H. WOODS
Right-handed relief pitcher that was originally drafted by the Atlanta Braves during the 23rd round of the 2018 Major League Draft. He was later signed by the New York Mets in November 2022.
He initially began his collegiate career at the University of Tennessee at Martin. He later transferred to Dyersburg State Community College in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
He made his official major league debut pitching against the Chicago Cubs on April 27, 2022 while playing for the Braves. He pitched one scoreless inning and recorded a strikeout. In early 2023, he was sent to play for the Triple-A Syracuse Mets.
Growing up, he lived with his family in Trenton, Tennessee.
He played alongside Austin Riley during his MLB debut.
