ABOUT YALDA HAKIM
Afghani broadcast journalist, news presenter, and documentary maker who often presents on BBC News. She has appeared in numerous documentaries including the 2021 short documentary films Afghan Girls: An Uncertain Future and The Defiant Women of Kabul, which were produced for the BBC network.
She studied journalism at Macleay College in Chippendale, Australia and finished her degree at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.
She is fluent in English, Persian, Hindu, and Pashto.
Her family fled Afghanistan when she was six months old as a result of the Soviet-Afghan War.
She joins many other notable journalists who worked at the BBC including Samira Ahmed .
