ABOUT YOUN YUH-JUNG

Revered South Korean actress who has earned numerous awards for her work in film and television. She rose to international fame for her portrayal of Soon-ja in the 2020 drama film, Minari. In 2021, she was included in Time's list of 100 Most Influential People in the World. Forbes named her a Korea Power Celebrity the following year.

She enrolled at Hanyang University to study Korean Language and Literature, but dropped out to pursue acting.

She won an Academy Award, and an Independent Spirit Award for her performance in Minari. In 2021, she received the Order of Cultural Merit from the President of South Korea. Throughout the course of her lengthy acting career, she has appeared in over 50 different titles, earning nominations for over 40 different awards for her performances along the way.

She was married to singer-songwriter Jo Young-nam from 1974 to 1987. She has two sons.

She worked alongside Steven Yeun on the cast of Minari.
