American pop artist and actress whose first single was "Endless Story." She released a total of 3 albums in consecutive years. The first was called Heart and was released in 2007.
She was offered a recording contract but denied it because she believed she was not being taken seriously as a singer.
She played Reira Serizawa in the movie Nana 2 and her album Heart went Double Platinum, according to the Recording Industry Association of Japan. She also starred in several other films as an actress.
Her parents did not want her to pursue music, but wanted her to go to school and meet a nice man instead.
She was inspired to sing by Celine Dion .
