ABOUT ZAHIR RAIHAN
A twentieth-century Bangladeshi author, he is most remembered for Arek Falgun. During the 1960s, he also had a career as a film director.
He earned a degree in Bengali Literature from Dhaka University.
He was a 1972 recipient of the prestigious Bangla Academy Award.
After divorcing his first wife, Sumita Devi , he married his second wife, Shuchonda, in 1968.
His first wife, Sumita Devi , was a popular screen actress.
