ABOUT ZHAI ZHIGANG
The first Chinese citizen to conduct a spacewalk. He joined the China National Space Administration's astronaut program in 1996 and subsequently commanded a 2008 Shenzhou 7 space mission.
He served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the People's Liberation Army Air Force.
During his Shenzhou 7 mission, he wore a Chinese space suit known as the Feitian.
He married Zhang Shujing and had one child.
He and Jing Haipeng were fellow Chinese astronauts.
